The Davis Branch reopened from our refresh process Saturday April 8 at 10:00 AM. County Executive Isaiah Leggett reaffirmed his strong commitment to libraries at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mr. Leggett was joined by at the ceremony by Councilmember George Leventhal, Director of Libraries Parker Hamilton, Department of General Services Director David Dise, Davis Friends of the Library President Robert Owen, and members of the community.
The collaboration spaces can be booked online one week in advance for up to two hours per day.
The newly expanded Children's room has a space dedicated to books for the youngest customers, with child friendly seating and toys inside. We also have 2 "chair and half"s where we have already seen many adults and children curling up together to enjoy a special book, as well as 3 very colorful low rockers.
Our Quiet Area now contains all of our magazines and newspapers, comfortable lounge furniture, and a "laptop lane" that runs around the perimeter of the room, providing power outlets at each station for laptops, tablets or what have you.
We are swinging into a full slate of library programs for the spring and summer, with storytimes, our very popular book discussions, and our English conversation club already underway.
Please drop by to say hi when you're in the neighborhood. We are very proud of the result of our refresh, and we know you will love it too!
